The ad, entitled ‘Another Dimension’ was developed to promote a new 3-a-Side Hurling game, Guinness Hurling Cubed.
The ad commences in a dark setting. We see a man’s hand clenching a sliothar that instantaneously comes alight before he launches it into the dark abyss to begin a game of Hurling.
Lit by the dim glow of spotlights the sliothar is received by a team mate who battles for possession. In turn, a rigorous clash of bodies ensues as the physical contact amongst the players flings mists of colour from their bodies.
The camera, focusing on one player follows him as a liquid trail bleeds the colour from his shirt. Lunging himself towards an opponent, another player intercepts the sliothar rebounding it of a perspex wall that appears in the distance. As the walls drop around the players, they find themselves enclosed in a new playing environment, the rules of the game have changed. Undeterred one of the players reacts and rebounds the ball around his opponent to then strike it directly towards the camera as a voice reads – ‘Guinness, Hurling Cubed.
