The Milk are Rick Nunn (lead vocals/guitar), brothers Mitch Ayling (drums) and Luke Ayling (bass), and Dan Le Gresley (guitar). Together, their sound is obviously heavily soul-influenced, but it’s a modern, muscular take on the classics, which has osmosised the passion of punk, the power of rock ‘n’ roll and the fluidity of hip hop. It’s a mellifluous mix, which has already earned the band a diverse set of supporters. And whilst singer Rick Nunn may have the pipes of a young Cee Lo Green, as soon becomes clear in their company, The Milk are driven by not one but a series of voices: the other members of the band are also gifted singers, showing off a tightness of harmony and a tautness of sound that befits a genuine gang of mates.
