Growing Locally
Growing Locally's mission is to grow and market produce locally on a year-round basis, through a weekly box scheme that supplies fresh vegetables to meals-on-wheels services, restaurants and supermarkets, while also creating employment opportunities.
The injection of funding from the globally-recognised Arthur Guinness Fund has assisted Growing Locally's evolution from a training project into a production project. The Arthur Guinness Fund has provided the seed capital to grow and sell produce direct to market. This includes essential onsite services such as a Portakabin, security vault, generator and chemical toilet. These provide much-needed services to ensure the smooth running of the Growing Locally site on a day-to-day basis. It also helped to fund the necessary equipment, construction of a second tunnel, marketing and development of a five-acre orchard and vegetable production area.
